What Information Do You Need for a Parts Quote? A Buyer’s Checklist
Getting an accurate quote for construction equipment parts requires specific information. The more details you provide upfront, the faster we can confirm fitment and pricing. Use this checklist to prepare your enquiry.
Essential Information
- Machine make, model and serial number — The serial number identifies the exact build specification, which may differ from other units of the same model.
- Part number — The OEM part number or cross-reference number from the existing part. Check the part itself, the operator manual, or the dealer parts book.
- Quantity — How many units you need.
- Delivery destination — City, state/province and country. Shipping costs vary significantly by destination and part size.
Helpful Additional Details
- Photos — Clear images of the existing part, nameplate, any visible part numbers, and the mounting area on the machine.
- Measurements — Key dimensions of the part, especially for wear items like bucket teeth, cutting edges and pins.
- Application — How the part is used (soil type, material handled, hours per day). This helps recommend the correct grade or duty rating.
- Timeline — When you need the part. Standard and expedited options may differ in cost.
- Preferred shipping method — Sea freight, air freight, or express courier.
