Mini Excavator Bucket Size Chart: Match Your Machine Model
Choosing the right mini excavator bucket starts with knowing your machine’s operating weight and the job requirements. This size chart helps you match bucket width, capacity and pin dimensions to your specific model.
Bucket Sizing by Machine Weight Class
- 1–2 ton class — Bucket widths 300–600 mm. Pin diameters 25–30 mm. Best for utility trenching, landscaping and tight-access work.
- 2–4 ton class — Bucket widths 400–900 mm. Pin diameters 30–40 mm. Residential foundations, drainage and general earthmoving.
- 4–6 ton class — Bucket widths 450–1200 mm. Pin diameters 40–50 mm. Commercial site preparation, road work and heavier trenching.
- 6–10 ton class — Bucket widths 600–1500 mm. Pin diameters 45–65 mm. Bulk excavation, loading trucks and deeper trenches.
How to Choose the Right Width
Match bucket width to the job, not just the machine. A narrower bucket moves less material but requires less force and fits tighter spaces. A wider bucket speeds up bulk work but may exceed rated capacity when full.
Standard vs Heavy-Duty Buckets
Standard-duty buckets use thinner plate for soft to medium soils. Heavy-duty buckets add reinforced side plates, wear strips and thicker cutting edges for rock, clay and demolition. Choosing the wrong duty rating shortens bucket life.
