Complete Guide to Rubber Track Sizes for Mini Excavators

Rubber tracks are a high-wear item on mini excavators. Ordering the correct replacement requires three key dimensions and knowledge of the internal structure.

Three Essential Dimensions

  • Width (mm) — Common widths: 180, 230, 250, 300, 320, 350, 400, 450 mm.
  • Pitch (mm) — Distance between adjacent drive lug centres. Common: 48.5, 52.5, 56, 72, 84 mm.
  • Number of links — Count all drive lugs around the entire loop.

Internal Guide System

  • Offset guide — Rail positioned to one side. Most common on newer machines.
  • Centre guide — Single rail down the middle. Used on certain Kubota, Yanmar and older models.

Signs of Wear

  • Visible steel cord exposure through the rubber
  • Cracking or chunking of tread blocks
  • Worn or missing drive lugs causing skipping
  • Delamination of track layers
